Brixton’s very own David Bowie musical tour!
Young and ambitious singer/songwriter Nick Stephenson has set up the immersive experience that is the David Bowie Musical Walking Tour. On the 8th of January 2017 (Bowies birthday), Nick launched his musical tour around Brixton which has gained momentum and popularity for those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate the incredible life of legend David Bowie.
The tour begins at Brixton tube station where Nick greets participants with his guitar, then weaves around the streets of Brixton where Bowie was born and performed his first gig (Brixton Academy). At each stop Nick sings one of Bowies’ songs encouraging his fellow Bowie lovers to sing along!
Alongside this, Nick tells the poignant story of Bowie’s life and work in Brixton which often takes customers to rare and unique sites. Nick has extensively researched Bowies love of Brixton and customers are in for a treat if they decide to take the magically musical 2 hour long tour.

Since the increase in headphone listening due to the ubiquity of Spotify and other digital platforms, 3D Audio takes advantage of this opportunity to invite the listener into the heart of the action, via our cutting edge 'binaural' audio production techniques. Combined with great scriptwriting, our quasi-surround sound mixing and detailed sound design techniques give the audience a first-person perspective, without having to leave their normal headphone-wearing environment.
We're currently discussing 3D Audio projects with brands that embrace creativity and wish to add impact to their commercial productions, including film, gaming, autos and youth clients.

New standards introduced
In an attempt to end the production of horribly compressed audio material particularly on TV ads, that results in the perceived increase in volume from program to ad break and the viewer often hitting the mute button(!) the industry is attempting to change its ways... Clients, due to more progressive broadcasters, are now sending us delivery specs which require final levels to meet the new EBU R.128 standard, not the old BBC created 6 PPM. Put simply, R.128 is a cleverer way of measuring loudness. To stay up to speed with all the changes and requirements, SNK Studios have recently updated all our rooms to be able to mix to R.128 when necessary.
The new system, now a legal requirement across large portions of Europe and the US, and now on many UK digital channels, is something we fully endorse and we hope that all channels will move across to R.128 soon. It's a great thing; allowing us more dynamic audio range, meaning more depth and creative possibilities, and for the viewers, who won't have to reach for the remote control every time an ad comes on!
